On Monday, 24th of March, 2025, YcDEI received a very powerful delegation from our sponsors and partner, Fund for Innovation in Development (FiD) on an assessment visit to our ongoing project aptly tagged “Ending School Related Gender Based Violence”. During the visit, the FiD team comprising of Ms. Anushka Shawla and Ms. Amina, in company of one of our co-investigators from Ghana, Ms. Grace Abbam Ampiah visited two of the schools we are currently working with on the project, to have a firsthand experience of the work being carried out in 45 public primary schools in Ibadan, Oyo State, Nigeria. During the visit to the schools, the YcDEI team engaged the pupils in the transparent box exercise to the admiration of the FiD team.

After the visitations, a powerful stakeholders meeting which had in attendance the Honorable Commissioner for Education, Science, and Technology, Oyo State, Prof. Abdulwaheed Adelabu Salihu, The Executive Secretary, Oyo State Universal Basic Education Board, Mr. Fatai Raji, a high powered delegation from the Ministry of women affairs, several top Government functionaries, The Executive Director YcDEI, Professor Adefunke Ekine, the entire Board, Management, staff and volunteers of YcDEI, Teachers and pupils of some of the schools we are currently working with, several NGO’s, CBO’s Media Houses and other stakeholders was held.
