Child Protection Network (CPN) Oyo State State members ( Dr. Walker, Alhaja Ogungbenro, Princess Adebunmi Adeomi, Mrs. Rosemary Odigbo, Dr. Ekine & Mrs. Abokede) conducted an advocacy visit to the Oyo State Judiciary. This is an activity to mark the International Day of the African Child themed Child-Friendly Justice System for the African Child.
The Chief Judge led the whole of the judiciary (about 16 officers) to the meeting where there was discussion on the state of the judiciary relating to children including the issue of the Family Court. Firm commitments were made to work together in the administration of Juvenile Justice. The Family Court is virtually ready and will soon be launched. The legal officer in charge was mandated to take us to the site to see the current state of the facility.
Overall it was a fruitful meeting with outputs that will enable CPN key into ensuring child-friendly justice system for children.
