In continuance with its mandate to encourage academic excellence among youths, Youthcare Development and Empowerment Initiative sponsored 10 participants of its ongoing Mentorship Program to attend the Flying Colours Program 2022. The conference, aimed at enlightening students on secret to achieving good grades. The program which held on the 5th of March at Omogafo events center, Felele, Ibadan, from 9:30am to 3:00pm began with prayers followed by a praise and worship session. Afterwards, the convener Mrs Bukola Ogunyemi, addressed the students and teachers present on the theme of the program “Dream it, work it, achieve it” and then acknowledged donors and partners whose contributions made the program possible.

The program consisted of educative videos, lots of games and prizes, musical presentations, as well as the three speakers selected to present on key learning areas. The first speaker Mrs Olufunso Ojo an English language consultant taught on “Why do students fail English language?” The second speaker Miss Deborah Adebowale, the student with the best WASSCE result in 2020 encouraged the students to aim for the best and gave practical tips on how to do so. After the observation of a few minutes break after the first half of the event, the second half commenced with more games and prizes won by the students. The third speaker Dr Adetoun Faloye, a consultant psychiatrist address the issue of identifying and correcting bullying behavior, as well as its negative effects. The enriching program was brought to an end at some minutes after 3:00 with prayers for the students and a vote of thanks given by Mrs Bukola Ogunyemi.
