In commemoration of the 2023 International Day of the Girl Child, the Justice Development and Peace Commission (JDPC) of the Catholic Diocese of Ijebu-Ode invited our E.D Dr. Adefunke Ekine to deliver the keynote address at the occasion with the theme “Digital Generation, Our Generation”.
The event had in attendance approximately 250 students (both male and female), a team of dedicated educators, representatives of NGOs, and members of JDPC.
In her keynote address, Dr. Mrs. Ekine elucidated how digital technology is currently reshaping societies, and profoundly influencing the course of our collective future. She underscored how the 21st-century digital revolution has left no aspect of our lives untouched, emphasizing the pivotal role of the girl child in this transformative journey. Her very educative discourse affirmed that girls possess the capacity not only to realize their potential but to actively contribute to their empowerment through digital literacy.
