Following the successful Gender-Based Violence Capacity Building Workshop for Female Religious Leaders in Ibadan, the impact is already being felt across local churches as the trained leaders begin step-down trainings in their congregations.
A few days ago, two courageous women religious leaders from St. Barnabas Anglican Church and Calvary Testimony Prayer Ministry took the bold step of engaging their church members in heartfelt conversations on ending Gender-Based Violence (GBV).
These sessions served as platforms to:
✅ Raise awareness about the realities and dangers of GBV.
✅ Challenge harmful norms often normalized within communities and religious spaces.
✅ Educate congregants on how to support survivors and promote safe, respectful environments.
The response was overwhelmingly positive. Church members participated actively, asked thoughtful questions, and showed willingness to learn and be part of the positive change movement.
This marks the beginning of a faith-led movement of transformation ….. one church at a time. These women are not just leaders but trailblazers using their voices and various platforms to protect, educate, and empower.
